Instructions:
After your team has chosen a company/product/service and three competitors in
week 3:
1. Apply the strategy canvas as it is today for each of the three companies (or
products/services) the team chose. Do the strategy canvas. Write a 1-2
page explanation of the chart using the six factors you have chosen to examine.
a. To do this properly, you will need to identify the six factors. Please
examine the strategy canvases provided in the text to get examples that
other companies have used. Be sure to use ones you plan to affect
through examination of the Buyer Utility Map, six paths (week 5), and the
customer tiers (item 4).
2. Complete the Buyer Utility Map for your company (p. 121, template provided)
3. Uncover the blocks to utility and determine how your company will (or has)
address(ed) them. Write a 1 page synopsis of the blocks to utility. Write a 2-3
page plan for removing the most important blocks to utility.
4. Complete the three tiers of non-customers analysis for your company (p. 104). No
need to use a template; just write 2-3 pages discussing them.
Deliverable:
This paper will be about 6-8 pages (excluding cover page and references) and will
include:
1. Strategy canvas before the strategy is applied
2. Buyer utility map
3. One page synopsis on the blocks to customer utility that exist today
4. Two to three pages outlining a plan to remove the blocks to utility
5. Complete the three tiers of non-customers analysis for your company.
